And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I bought a spendy tape measure once, when I drove over it I cried. I took that money and bought a number of much cheaper tapes to replace it...if I lost one I knew where to find another.
A buddy of mine is a plumber and was working once over a clogged city pump station. He dropped his $50 Knipex pliers down in the mass of poop, urine and water, whereupon he closed his eyes and said to the guy working with him, "Give me a moment."
i guarantee that aint no corps of engineers job. lock and dam 26, had a corps. stupervisor making sure we picked up 1/2" pieces of tie wire on the cell floor before another 500 yards of concrete was dumped into the gang form.we all felt they were somewhat "anal retentive" about stuff like that.
