    1. I bought a spendy tape measure once, when I drove over it I cried. I took that money and bought a number of much cheaper tapes to replace it...if I lost one I knew where to find another.

  6. A buddy of mine is a plumber and was working once over a clogged city pump station. He dropped his $50 Knipex pliers down in the mass of poop, urine and water, whereupon he closed his eyes and said to the guy working with him, "Give me a moment."

  8. i guarantee that aint no corps of engineers job. lock and dam 26, had a corps. stupervisor making sure we picked up 1/2" pieces of tie wire on the cell floor before another 500 yards of concrete was dumped into the gang form.we all felt they were somewhat "anal retentive" about stuff like that.
