And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Fixed barrel, under lever cocking. Depending on caliber/velocity, could be a great game getter. I have a RWS side cocker in .22. I killed a So. Cal. ground squirrel at 60 paces. Pellet lodged on far side, just under the skin. Easy retrieval, pellet was slightly deformed. He could probably get by with a Ruger Mk something, for a hand gun. His kit looks European to me.
Cool pic. For simple living off the land for the individual, this appears to be a decent load for a pack. The high power pellet rifle provides small game / bird harvesting without making a lot of noise to attract others. Compact ammunition that does not weigh a lot. The Grolsch glass beer bottle canteen is making clever use from what you have. Gloves for protecting hands is vital - damage to them would be a downer.
One missing item - overhead cover. In snow or rain, nothing to huddle under with protection would not be fun at all. And like anon 8:06 above, a desert dweller sleeping on ground would be in danger. A hammock would be very welcome sleep platform and has many uses other than just a place to sleep..
Nice kit, but he does need a sidearm... 1911 or something.
ReplyDeleteMen have gone to the wilderness with less, but that's some fine gear. I too think a sidearm would be in order.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that's just a break-barrel pellet rifle, I'd like a couple of additional firearms.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the old Crossman air rifle my grandfather had.

More cigars
ReplyDeleteNice kit.. Essentials. What is the squarish item in the leather sheath to the left of the cigars?
ReplyDeleteFolding stove, looks like
DeleteYup, good call. It’s a LIXADA Folding Camp Stove, still available.
DeleteBreak action pellet rifle, open faced fishing reel no rod, no hooks, no bait, cannot tell but I really don't even see line on the reel.
ReplyDeleteI'd add the missing gear, plus some small traps and snares. A revolver in 38 or better would be useful.
Too much of the wrong stuff. Caste iron skillet? too heavy, etc...
ReplyDeleteBut the essentials are present - a flask and a harmonica
ReplyDeleteThis display is from some magazine that advertises skinny jeans and plaid shirts for dudes with beards that can’t change a tire and drive an EV…
ReplyDeleteAnd a twat knot...I mean, man bun.
DeleteI’ve started to mentally equate ever time I see a perfectly manicured caveman beard, I think “bitch”
DeleteWould die in my neck of the woods….er desert with that payload
