And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
See that Corvette emblem on the rear? I'm driving my car carrier westbound on the PA turnpike and I get passed by a Corvette. I notice that the emblem is almost ready to fall off. I hit the air horn to get the guy's attention. He flips me off. Sure enough it falls off and I see it skid along the road and come to rest against the guard rail. I make note of the mile marker and on my eastbound return, I pull over and retrieve it. Sitting on a shelf in my basement.
No split window. I vaguely recall some owners were having that "updated" to get better vision, and less leaks. Years later, owners were having it added to make the car more valuable. No idea how common that might have been.
Probably more bs than truth. Could probably have traded up to a 64 for less than that modification would have cost. Not saying some dummy, somewhere didn't do it, but being in the Corvette resto and collecting community for 30 years I never saw it. (However, I did see a lot of other ridiculous sh*t done!) I had a '66 fastback midnight blue with a 427. oh my goodness! I wish I had it today. Of course I would sell it as it would be worth a bunch.
ReplyDeleteStingray?
ReplyDeleteNo. Stingrays were the C3 body style started in 1968.

ReplyDeleteA money pit you stand a very good chance on recouping your money on.
DeleteLooks like they ruined a perfectly good era correct panel paintjob with some autozone stick on white pinstripes....
