That's just a wild airplane

  1. I've seen them overhead in forward position and they sound like a chopper.

  2. That plane doesn't know if it rode the bus or brung it's lunch. So confusing.

  3. They fly over our house between Wilmington and Camp Lejeune all the time. Sound is much different than other helicopters - of course all the different types have their own distinctive sounds.

  4. When they Corps first "commissioned" these heliplanes. The poor guys riding these things took quite a loss. A few crash and burns and I think most of the bugs are worked out.

    1. They're still hangar queens and can't do real assault landings like actual helicopters can, nor can they auto-rotate to crash-landing. And no door gunners and very expensive to own and operate. It's debatable whether they're a good deal or not.
