  1. Back in the late 1950s my family doctor wrote prescriptions for them for weight loss as he puffed on Camel cigarettes. It was as normal then as people today wearing facemasks.

  2. A rack of ten "whites" for a dollar did the same for me in the early 70's. I could go for 36 hours...

  3. Those little helpers killed my aunt and financially broke the family fortune her doting husband had amassed. He ended up on welfare at the very end. All so innocent back in the day, no one knew anything ... except for the drug companies who also were into "downers" at the time. Lesson learned early.
