  2. That overstates it a wee bit.
    Irish Gaelic is still pretty prevalent throughout the country, but most folks there are fully English-fluent.

    I suspect that's a map of people who only speak the Gael, not of those who speak it at all.

    1. Probably many of those included in "pretty prevalent" can understand it, but would have a hard time actually conversing in it. Just a wag.

    2. By all accounts, they would have no such hard time, it's compulsory through high school level education in the free republic.

      About 40% can speak and understand it, but it's only about 2% who use Irish daily or solely.

  4. The Irish are the most woke folks in the EU. Of course their language will disappear. So will they. They will exist only in books and old movies.
