  1. I installed one in my 1964 Mustang. The only trouble was when you went over train tracks or hit a pot hole it sounded like a cat with its tail caught in a wringer.

  4. Back around '72, pulled one out of a wreck in a junkyard. Could be a Motorola. Tinkered a bit and got it to go. Installed it in my '65 Chevelle. Pretty neat with music, lousy with speech. It's somewhere in the basement rubble pile. And yeah, hit-a-bump played havoc with the innards of the device; blousing-ring type springs would bounce around and get all discombobulated.
