Art in Obsidian and Archery

  1. OK, I need a basic primer on obsidian. I, perhaps mistakenly for the past 50+ years that I've known that rocks had names other than skipping rock, BIG rock, slingshot rock, etc, have thought that Obsidian was a black, igneous, glass-like stone. But from this VERY COOL looking arrowhead - it appears that there may be exceptions to this generality?

    1. I have found deep blue, neon blue, dark red, pale green, emerald green, tan, and the ubiquitous black Obsidian. The mounds which stretch between Mono Lake and Bishop are/were great places to find the aforementioned plus heaps of pumice and 'pop corn' pumice.
