And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That seems like a good way, in combat, to get your dog machinegunned off the top of a wall. Hate to see them thrown into that. Most dogs are better human beings than all the people I meet on a daily basis.
Good point! The next time I happen to be in combat, I'll be sure not to let my pup climb a wall and get machine gunned. I hate it when that happens...my dog getting machine gunned. Machine guns, in addition to becoming a verb, are a real threat to the lives and well being of canines everywhere. Cats not so much, because they're instinctively aware of the threat of being machine gunned (verb usage approved by Merriam-Webster), especially when going over a wall or walking along the top of a fence. Although, with nine lives to expend, they can suffer a good machine gunning and still live to tell the tale. To the dogs, who apparently need the telling.
