A British motorist reveals his new £30,000 MG ZS EV 'began driving itself' after suffering 'catastrophic malfunction' - forcing him to dial 999 and slowly bump it into a police van to get it to stop

An electric car driver has revealed he was kidnapped by his runaway £30,000 MG ZS EV after the vehicle suffered a 'catastrophic malfunction' in a bizarre case which forced him to dodge red lights and roundabouts before calling police and arrange to have them use their van to bring him to a stop.

Last October, Brian Morrison, 53, was heading home from work at around 10pm on Sunday when his new Chinese-made fully electric car began driving itself at 30mph.

Chinese made.

That right there is all you need to know.

Unable to use the brakes, the Glaswegian - who runs his own social enterprise - called police who stopped the vehicle by allowing it to do a slow motion crash into their van.

He doesn't look happy.

I'll stick with my Dodge, thank you very much.   Leave the Chinese cars to the Chinese.

  1. He does look unhappy, and that's before his car was crunched.

  2. I thought these new vehicles had software in the on-board computer that would allow the authorities to shut them down from a remote location

    1. They also contain hardware that allows authorities to speed up the car non-stop into a wall, no ability to apply the brakes, for the sole purpose of killing that driver. That's already been shown as what happened to Anne Heche, who was rumored to be working on a documentary exposing child trafficking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLuft2fhPUw

  7. He may not look like a happy chappy but I think I would rather enjoy bumping into a police car without fear of prosecution.

  9. So how many more of these incidents before people get smart...oh that's right; folks in my neck of the woods are still wearing face diapers whilst alone in their cars.

    1. Donald Trump seems to have learned that lesson very well.
Everything he sells is made in China (go ahead check your red hat. I'll wait). He does nothing other than praise Xi Xi Jinping...
