  1. The original of the movie " The Longest Yard" had Burt Reynolds crash one of these in a great way. Ugly ass car.

    1. Suddenly I'm finding pictures of them. Years go by and I see maybe one or two. Lately, I'm finding one everyday. Who knows why. They are weird looking, almost a cult car.

    1. Just today I thought, "The ultimate garage: one red Avanti R2, one sea foam green Citroen like in these pictures. Every weekend would be spent in a desperate attempt to keep them running.

  7. I am an Electrical Engineer and worked for a French Company for a short time. I find the French and their Engineering to be bad. I would not buy a French car.

  8. The naysayers may have a bias from lack of exposure.

These cars were not unique, rather were large volume production with weak North American sales.

    Traction - around 760,000 built
    DS/ID - around 1,455,00 built
2CV - around 9,248,00 built (yes that many!)
    CX - around 1,170,00 built

A lot of hate is those parroting what they have read, rather than experience statements.
