The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? May 1, 1954 merger of Nash & Hudson (largest merger in American history at that time) to create American Motors Corp. - AMC. In 1970 AMC purchased Willys Jeep and became AMC/Jeep, although the company remained American Motors Corp. (I went to work for AMC/Jeep in 1971.) Renault acquired a majority interest in AMC in 1979 and Chrysler acquired, and absorbed, AMC lock, stock & barrel in 1987. Some of us in the field offices moved over to Chrysler. I stayed a year and then triggered my severance package, which was generous.
