  1. Air ride. A boss I had only had these and when he turned it off it settled down low to the ground.

  2. That one's at standard height. They can hydraulic up high enough to change a wheel - or outrun assassins!

  3. Sometime just prior to 1935:

Company Prez: I want a car that shouts “MADE IN FRANCE!!” when people see it.

    Chief Designer: Et voilà…

  4. Neighbors had one in the 60s. I was too busy drooling over a different neighbor’s Jag. Ever since, the Citroen just leaves me cold.

  5. That hydropneumatic suspension feels like riding on a dream. It was also designed to ride high, and be tough, for the dirt roads in the French colonies in Africa. The classic Citroen is one of the few mechanical things that the French did well.

    1. It’s less pretentious working class little brother, the Deux Chevaux 2CV, was also pretty good mechanically, and just like it’s a big brother it looked very… French. Clever rugged design.
