And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had a old DS in the late 60s. A female hithchiker suggested pasting the Rolling Stones "Lips" artwork around the base of the steering column. She ended up being my girlfriend for about a year.... crazy times.
A Chapron version of the Citroen DS, featuring a Jaeger instrument setup.
Thinking this is from one of the Chapron convertibles.
The lever sticking up is the four-speed plus reverse shift control, which also controls the sequencing of the automated clutch and is used to start the car.
There is no clutch pedal as a result.
Usually the brake pedal looks like a rubber mushroom and is pressure sensitive, rather than moving very much.
Very slick to drive, as a flick moves between gears.
If the rest of the car is in the same condition and it is a Chapron convertible, lower 6-digit dollars for this car.
DS
ReplyDeleteWhat is a DS? I guess it's what I'm looking at but what is a DS?

ReplyDeleteNo reverse?

ReplyDeleteDash ruined, should have retained the original gauges!
ReplyDeleteI had a 1977 GS (later, smaller sedan) as my first car and it had the same Jaeger gauges.
DeleteDiffer
Dunno...those are Jaeger guages...
ReplyDeleteWhere's the horn?
ReplyDeleteAsk Nicus he had his blown in one. Sounds like it is close to the driver's seat.
DeleteIts been many many years but I seem to recall the horn was controlled by the little lever just to the left of the steerng column.
ReplyDeleteI see the ignition switch...but what is that "key" like looking item under the steering wheel on the dash ?
ReplyDeleteCitroen steering wheel. My sister had one.
ReplyDeleteShe had a Citroen steering wheel?
DeleteDid you ever steer her wrong?
DeleteGoddess...
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone copied a rebar pattern for steering wheel.
