And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Since I don't like the taste of seafood, I almost always release what I catch. But I have known a few good hunters and fishermen who have admired their quarry and marveled at its strength and beauty, and let it live another day, to spread those genes among the population. Stewards with an eye on a greater purpose. We need more men like that today.
I've been one of those catch, admire, and release guys for over 30 years, but I do not begrudge a man killing a fish for the pan, and that there golden cutt is the perfect size for eating. Just add butter and a bit of salt and pepper.
