And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Sal's Pizzeria on the southwest corner of Stuyvesant Avenue and Lexington Avenue in NYC was the go-to place back in the day until it met with a fiery end..
The go-to place was (coincidentally) Frank's Pizza in Grass Valley, California from the '70s 'til the '90s. It was a weekly ritual for several of us young old-timers until Jack and Pat retired. It was just a little hole in the wall on main street. But it wasn't the atmosphere that we loved, it was the Pizza. It was delicious because of the ingredients, and the way Jack made it. And I think we all loved Jack and Pat, too.
Root Beer is an excellent companion to pizza.
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant business is tough, 50% of new startups fail, and Frank's is either in a really tough neighborhood or it's boarded up.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely boarded up. That is a long gone business.
DeleteI'm guessing Frank is long gone as well.
