And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Brings to mind the Filipina girls that hunted political/military targets in the 70's/80's. Their normal weapon was a 1911 military piece. Schoolgirls with a part time "job".
back when I was a kid. I saw my mom shoot like that once with dad's 1911. she put the whole magazine into a paper plate at 20 yards. but she was a better shot with her old 38 Smith. 4 inch barrel model. she used to out shoot dad and my uncles back then. with a handgun anyway. she said it was shooting in high school on the "team" that taught her how to shoot. she was also very good with the 22 rifle, but she didn't shoot it much she often said if she needs to shoot, it will be with a handgun. not a rifle.

ReplyDeleteDo I see a lanyard loop at the bottom of the grip?
ReplyDeleteEarly 1911's had lanyard loops on the magazines as well
Deleteyou do, too, I suspect a 1911, not an -A1.
DeletePoor trigger discipline.
ReplyDeleteUhh... You forgot about the "...until you are ready to shoot" part? ;^)
DeleteNot sure if she's ready for the recoil, though...?
Not for the times.

Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster) in a publicity still for 'Brute Force' (1947). She was 25 then and already a seasoned actress.
ReplyDeleteworked for the Billy Rose Aquacade.
DeleteThe really dangerous weapons in this photo are the twin 45s located just a few inches above the 1911.
ReplyDeleteI think them are 36 cal magnums, C model.
DeleteEither way, I surrender.
ReplyDeleteShe pulled a .45, then stuck two 38s in my chest…..
