  1. Brings to mind the Filipina girls that hunted political/military targets in the 70's/80's. Their normal weapon was a 1911 military piece. Schoolgirls with a part time "job".

  2. Do I see a lanyard loop at the bottom of the grip?

    2. you do, too, I suspect a 1911, not an -A1.

    1. Uhh... You forgot about the "...until you are ready to shoot" part? ;^)

Not sure if she's ready for the recoil, though...?

  4. back when I was a kid. I saw my mom shoot like that once with dad's 1911.
she put the whole magazine into a paper plate at 20 yards.
but she was a better shot with her old 38 Smith. 4 inch barrel model.
she used to out shoot dad and my uncles back then. with a handgun anyway.
she said it was shooting in high school on the "team" that taught her how to shoot. she was also very good with the 22 rifle, but she didn't shoot it much
she often said if she needs to shoot, it will be with a handgun. not a rifle.

  5. Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster) in a publicity still for 'Brute Force' (1947). She was 25 then and already a seasoned actress.

  6. The really dangerous weapons in this photo are the twin 45s located just a few inches above the 1911.
