Donner Summit, California. Snow water equivalent is roughly 70 inches.

  1. I was tracking rainfall using a rain gauge around 6-8 years ago when we got 72 inches. We get rain they just send it to socal or the ocean. That should be a crime.

    1. It has been unseasonably cool in the central Sierra since the first of the year and AccuWeather predicts that will continue through the middle of May. I hope they're right for the sake of people in the valley that would have to deal with possible flooding.

    2. Really depends on if the sun hits it. Northern Michigan used to play a game when the last snow disappeared. Dirty, hard packed early stuff, in the shade, would sometimes last until late June.

  4. That's the spot where you shove a pair of short sharpened 2x4s into socks and boots, and embed them about 7' off the ground up to the boot tops.
