And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I've stayed at the Blue Swallow, it was a nice change. The owner told me the Hudson parked out front has always been in Tucumcari and came with the motel.. Dels restaurant down the street is also pretty good.
That is one tired doggo in the canoe in the first pic, and the young lady roper appears to be thoroughly enjoying herself. Those fall aspens, all in yellow gold, are quite the view to enjoy.
Thanks for the Golden Gate Bridge photos, although they make me miss my (29 y.o.) little girl, who lives only a couple of miles away from it. A long way from Raleigh.
i have actually spent the night in the Blue Swallow and the Wigwam Village in my early youth. my sister and i thought the Wigwam tepees were cool. most of the old roadside attractions and gift shops are gone now. I-40 put them out of business. i can close my eyes and still smell the sent of the high grade rubber and plastic that came out of those places.
Beautiful as always - all except for that "Look Ma, no hands" on the motorcycle. I got thrown and my collarbone broken riding one-handed 20 years ago and I'm still dealing with it. Still broken according to X-rays and it hurts every damn day.
It’s a toss up between the GSP or the Britainy pups but seeing as I have four GSPs sprawled out in different spots on the kitchen floor as I type this I’ll have to go with the former. Klaus
My favorite is the one with the dog.

ReplyDeleteYup a Calif. repeat of the confligration that destroyed my favorite late 1950s watering hole Al Foxie's on Rte-303 in Blauvelt, NY.
ReplyDeleteOOPs meant Conflagration.
DeleteAmerica in all it's majesty! God I hope we don't lose her.....

ReplyDelete2 VW picts and 2 puppies, I liked it!
ReplyDeleteMany great ones, made it to Rocky Mountain NP on a day trip back for a few hours, heard and could see through binoculars the Elk banging heads

I thought the Marlboro Man was dead.
ReplyDeleteHe is. That's his brother, Chester Field.
DeleteGreat collection.. Anyone know #13's landmark/location?
ReplyDeleteThe GSP and the Springer made my day. Two of the finest dogs God ever made.
