Anyone willing to help her with that?

  1. No, but I'd keep her company with one of my own.

  2. I’ll gladly hold her hair out of the toilet later though….

  3. I think that's a rootbeer she's drinkin', not a stout or a porter.

    1. Never saw a head like that on rootbeer. It's likely Doppelbock.

    2. My guess as well. Now, if it were my wife, she would not need any help.

    3. That's not very much head at all. I should know, I drank 7 of them liter mugs in the Lowenbrau tent in Munich at the Oktoberfest 1977. Have one of the mugs sitting on top of the cabinet in the kitchen 45 years later.

    1. Ten years ago, a couple friends and I decided to taste as many root beers as possible to see which we preferred served in chilled glass mugs, more of an exhibition than competition (no diet drinks). The results:
Winners - Barqs, A&W, Virgil’s, with Henry Weinhardt as the top.
Losers - really only one, Jack Black’s Rockin Red Root Beer.
YMMV, there were lots of very acceptable brands in the middle zone.

If she drinks a liter stein of dark lager, such as Kostritzer Schwartzbier at less than 5% or Weihenstephan Dunkel as just over 5%, okay. But a Paulaner Salvator Dopplebock, which is actually light in color, at about 8% would be interesting. This pic looks a lot like my favorite German pub in Seattle. Might have to go back to drop in soon.

  9. Might be a Dunkel, Schwarzbier, Marzen or even an (my favorite) Altbier. That head and lace on the glass looks very German and very malty. My favorite Alt is August Schell's Schmaltz's Alt. VERY hard to find, though.
