And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The RRS Sir David Attenborough carries out Ice Trials, Antartica. Cool ship, cooler location.
I was looking at this thing, this phony bowsprit, and wondering what the heck it's for. Makes for a great hazard for helideck landing / takeoff though, and that is not a roomy helideck to begin with. A twin-engine chopper with any open-ocean range is going to have to hope for conditions with no gusts.
