And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

(1971) 50th Anniversary of Apollo 14. Saturn V launch - Probably the biggest candle ever lit by mankind. I still love it when that red USA scrolls past the camera.
Visited the Boeing Museum of Flight several years ago. At the time the fee was $14. It was, by far, the best $14 I ever spent. What an amazing place and what a spectacular job the retired Boeing employees did in putting it together. Seeing all of the aircraft from WW1 thru to the Concorde and the SR71 in a single exhibit was mind boggling. The added bonus was that Sea Fair was happening ( hydroplane races on Lake Washington ) and the Blue Angels were parked on the tarmac right across from the entrance. Bonus!
We’ve been able to see several NASA or SpaceX night launches from the St. Pete side of Tampa Bay. My son did an overnight camp out at Kennedy Space Center with his Cub Scout pack a couple of years ago, so now he’s really excited whenever we get to see a launch.
I lived in Cape Coral - Fort Myers for 40 years and seen many of the lift offs over the years. Late in the day the sun would glint off the sides of the tube 150 miles away.
The Saturn 5 was a beautiful machine. For spaceflight geeks, NASA has a series of Flight Logs for the Apollo missions (I am up to Apollo 16 EVA1 prep). The details and complexity of each mission is mind-numbing!...
Come on guys, the moon landings were blatant fakes. If you don't believe me, read Dave McGowan's excellent summary of the evidence providing the fraud:
As a teen, I watched all of the TV coverage of the Apollo missions rather than play outside. I was mesmerized by what I saw, and I hoped to be an astronaut one day, despite a medical condition that I knew would preclude that. Watching that video brought tears to my eyes; at that time, I still believed that our future was bright; that America was still a wonderful place to live. I was a &*#$^ fool...
Parents bought a color teevee for the moon landings. Your not a fool our govt.needs to be rebooted to the street. I'm 64 and still want to be a ASTRONAUT. I can still dream.
...and that most complex machine ever built and flown was designed using slide rules. Not to mention, no other country has placed men on the moon and brought them safely back home, EVER.
Never to be repeated again. The mission to the moon represented the hopes, desires and promises for a better future. The pinnacle of our beliefs. WE failed after that. WE the people enabled our decline. We the people became complacent. WE sat on our collective asses and did nothing. WE trusted the government to do the right thing. I mean after all the government sent men to the moon and brought them home safely. Right? They know what they are doing ...right? WE led the decline of our country, our republic. WE were charged with the task of preserving the republic by our forefathers to always stand vigilant and to crush all attempts to subjugate our absolute our God given right to freedom. To never forget the sacrifices and loss our forefathers endured to win our freedom. WE were given the God given rights via our second amendment. WE the people had the force multiplier to restore our Republic. Instead WE elected and placed our trust in morons, pedophiles, low IQ minorities, low IQ foreigners, low IQ bar tenders into positions of power and influence. Yeah well. WE are responsible. WE failed.
Van Braun after Apollo 11, give me $10 billion and I'll give you Mars in ten years.
ReplyDeleteSome Saturn V engine parts have been recovered and have been displayed at the Boeing Museum of Flight in Tukwila, just south of Seattle.

DeleteI lived on the West Coast of Fla when Apollo 17 had a Saturn V night launch. We could see it from across the state.

Does he explain the bouncing of laser beams from earth off reflectors set on the moon?
DeleteHat tip to the giants who came before us!

DeleteIn 1971 60% of Americans alive today weren't even born yet.
ReplyDeleteAnd 95% were of northern European ancestry.
