And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It's gonna be a cold, lonely night at Twin Bridges (sound of wolves howling somewhere).
Twin Bridges is at 6161' elevation. I believe since last night both Donner and Echo Summits have received about two feet of snow since last night, and it's still coming down. This is very good. We might still have green grass in the foothills in June, which is pretty amazing after going through January, February and March almost bone dry.
Mother Nature and her weather are always full of surprises, aren't they?
We camped all through there. We came down from Lake Tahoe at Big Meadow and back up at Echo Summit. Restocked at Echo Chalet Store - what a wonderful restock (closed now). 12 days to do the Tahoe Rim Trail - but not in that weather!

Especially in California. There is no "normal" rainfall year in this state.
