And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I use one of these to mark the driveways in our rural area when our fire department is responding to a call. It really helps the ambulance crews (who aren't as familiar with the area) as our crews are with the area. I've been impressed with these little devices.
Mine are rechargeable. I pulled some out a few months ago that hadn't been charged for more than a year - and much to my surprise - they worked fine. I charged'em up anyway. They can be much safer to use than flares (note, I didn't say better) Using flares at Motor Vehicle Accident scenes this summer here in a western state with a long term Severe Drought fell into the category of, "Oh Crap, Just another thing I have to worry about as the Incident Commander..."

ReplyDeleteMy kids could use these for hockey in the dark. Way safer than the flaming pucks.
ReplyDeleteThe batteries will be dead when you need them.
ReplyDeleteIn 51 years of driving I've never needed them.
They are the shiz, and also, unlike lit flares, won't set leaking gasoline or oil on fire.
ReplyDeleteIf you're worried about batteries, swap in a fresh package of them in your car every year. Cheaper by far than eating a collision after a breakdown.
