And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
By the way, if you have never tried freediving I would strongly encourage it. I used to dive Venice beach Fla. for sharks teethe. Fauna would come right up to you to check you out. Dolphins were great! Sharks, not so much.
There's some pretty good drift-diving in Tobago, too. It was supposedly one of Jacques Cousteau's favorite spots. The nice thing is, you get down on the coral and the current carries you along for a great show. If you're drifting, you're breathing slow and easy. Your air tanks last a long time.
Great video, fantastic music. Here is the link.

DeleteI've found several as big as your hand in the Copper & Ashley rivers in Charleston,SC.

DeleteThere are strong currents like that between Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. I've done that and Superman flying over the reefs several times.
ReplyDeleteThat is eerie, I could imagine too dangerous if you are unaware and have no exit point.
ReplyDeleteDrift diving is fun and exciting. We'd always have someone in the boat as observer and pick up point. Folks also use a long tether to the dinghy.

ReplyDeleteYep, inhale and rise slightly, exhale and drop closer. Soaring.
DeleteI was picturing stubbing my toe on a rock.
