And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The Circle of Life. I used to watch coyotes and buzzards clean up dead cows through a spotting scope at the ranch. It's pretty fascinating to witness. The dogs worked the night shift, the buzzards took the day shift. Between the two crews it wouldn't take long.
As an old biology prof once put it to me: "Death is nature's dinner gong." And those moans and groans we old folks make as we get up and around are simply feeding calls for predators.
No 4-legged varmints got to this one, with all those bones still in place. Critter will rip a limb off and take it somewhere quiet to gnaw. Looks like the buzzards are picking it clean.
