And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
They started this in the crowded and congested factory I work in not just with forklifts but with all the vehicles moving around inside the building. It actually works real well.
That's a very clever system. The point is, the projected square is highly useful to alert other operators. It's easy to look down to see where you're backing up, harder to move your head up to see what is approaching. Especially if you have some years, or some old injuries. Projecting the square onto the ground is putting it where others will see it.
In a customer's facility, I saw a forklift yesterday with a similar light, but this one projected an arc. It's the same principle; first time I've seen one.
Those purdy lights dont mean much if the driver does not look behind him before backing up. Just like all safety equipment , useless if not used or used incorrectly. Ron white is still right, you cant fix stupid.
Will Pinocchio Joe be equipped with this?

ReplyDeleteThat is nice!
DeleteSeems fine to me, just so long as people don't get used to all the safety features and forget situational awareness.
ReplyDeleteSeen lots of damage done by forklifts, don't know about injury.
ReplyDeleteSkeptical about less damage.
I wish we had had that around our maintenance department manager. He always caused more work when he got close.
