When I was a kid we had one, was really good and could make any kind you want
That how Ben & Jerry's make their Dingleberry Sweet Mascarpone?
"Made from REAL wood!" lol
The ice cream is never as sweet as when you can con little kids into turning the crank for all of you, while you stand by....
Like my Dad did us boys.
I have a friend who's a physics teacher. He gets out the compressed nitrogen, and we make homemade ice cream in about 20 seconds.
That's a good idea - also, dry ice is now pretty commonly available at a lot of the big grocery stores, where you buy a chunk by the pound. -110°F will chill quickly too....
The faster it freezes, the smaller the ice crystals and the better the texture. These freezers are good at that, but liquid nitrogen is better.
No, a traditional ice-cream maker has a crank handle. I ate that ice cream as a child.
My dad still has his 40+ year old hand cranked one. Best ice cream ever.
