And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Peter Navarro, one of Trump's wolverines, rips the CEO of 3M.
Had 3M refused to honor existing sales contracts and divert the already sold masks to the US government, would the US government protect 3M from future lawsuits for breach of contract?
No. 3M absolutely needed the US government to order it to keep the masks in the USA under the statute. 3M is now utterly safe from those lawsuits. Navarro is an idiot.
I know a C.O. who diverted a pair-for delivery of missiles from Israel to a U.S.emegency. "You'll get the next one." (they did) Lots of flack taken, but he wasn't made of soy.
At any time 3M could have reached out to the PTB (as this C.O. was approached) and said "I need to get my product to Our Guys.
Carlson nailed it with "responding to a question that hadn't been asked." The 3M guy was obviously lying from the get-go and then trying to cloak it in humanitarian terms.
Roman is a twit. Upon learning of the outbreak here in the states, he should have reserved 50% of the output for domestic use, only going to hospitals AND ramped production by 5000% to point of building a new factory on the West Coast. These masks aren't that difficult to build, but are capital intensive. If he had gone to Trump or the Team early with a plan to ramp production to unprecedented levels, he would have gotten all of the support and funding he needed.
We put a disabled aircraft carrier back in service in 3 days, 70 YEARS AGO, after one of the early Pacific battles and sent it on its way to Midway. What the hell is so hard about building a few machines to punch out masks in a couple of weeks or a month?
Now, this guy has got "that nasty stuff" all over him and 3M's reputation is in the shitter.
Just to put icing on the cake, Germany is accusing the USA of PIRACY for diverting masks, that were intended for them, to domestic use.

Never heard of Force Majeure events I guess.

3M chose not to.
Nope.
