The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks like the one that's visible isn't the only time the track was struck. Three treads down on the right there's another nice round hole roughly the same diameter as the hole around the visible shell.
It seems the shooter had already figured out from previous experiences that the Tiger's armor was impenetrable, therefore a mobility kill was the best option. Then you and your fellow tanks maneuver to get a shot to the flank and kill it.
If you're riding you have to hope that it's a dud...or you're in a pillbox.
