  1. Went to the peak of the arch in 1991. It was exhilarating, but I had this constant feeling when I looked through the tiny windows that the entire arch was falling over.

  4. I liked his original design(cost is no consideration) of a span across the river. this is great but that would have been magnificent.

  5. The first time I saw the arch was from across the river, prit near the same vantage as this photo. And it was a time prior to this photo; the cranes were there but the gap at the top was a panel or two wider. The structure gleamed shiny and bright in the sun.
