And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I know this is a dumb question, but what do you do in case of fire. Where we live, totally surrounded by Doug Fir, we pray extra-specially hard and hope the road out doesn't get blocked first.

Here in Arkansas we are also surrounded by 70 foot pines, enough to shade the house all day.
ReplyDeleteIt's the 5 or 6 feet of rain a year that makes a difference.
Too dry for long term.
