Used the new vintage J.A. Hellberg Swedish razor for the first time. I got it for the etch, but it is easily the sharpest razor I've ever touched. It's in a totally different league.
Needless to say, the shave quality was superb. No blood. With an instrument that sharp, it was a shave done with great care and concentration.
If you shave quickly, while distracted, zip/zop your face is ripped to shreds.
ReplyDeleteCW, if you haven't, get a $10 Mora knife - scandi grind (with which I am sure you are familiar) reflects very strict regulations on the export of Swedish steel. I have used this one for 4 years in the wood shop & the garden, used & abused it, and with a few passes (2nd site start at 1:30) it is still surgically sharp.
