Jonathan Chait, America hater and writer for the New York Magazine, gets hateful on the WWII vets who visited their memorial in DC.

 "New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait spent his government shutdown day mocking WWII veterans who were shut out by the National Park Service (NPS) when they came to visit the National WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.

On Tuesday morning, Representative Michelle Bachman (R-MN) and several Republican members of Congress helped tear down the barricades shutting the elderly veterans out of the WWII memorial. After the barricades were removed, dozens of veterans flooded in to conduct their often emotional visits.

But, thinking he was being funny, Chait took to Twitter to poke fun at the veterans, joking that the NPS should barricade the memorial with old Nazi soldiers.

It wasn't long, of course, before the Twitterverse erupted in condemnation of Chait's "funny" joke. Instead of apologizing, Chait lashed out at his critics."

To me, this simply illustrates, at the very least, the tone deafness of the left.  In addition, they see normal Americans, like these vets, as their political enemies, and when these political enemies fail to toe the line the left draws on the ground, they want to lash out, leading to the mean spirited, petty idiocy we see here.

Fortunately for all of us, the ubiquity of modern electronic communication often combines with these people's inability to see their own hatefulness, leading to revealing actions like this.  We are able to see the stinking moral rot that hides under their veneer of respectableness.  I mean, look at what this idiot said in front of all the world, about elderly veterans of the last world war!
