For the last few years, the ceremonies honoring the returning remains of fallen warriors have been faked.

"WASHINGTON — The Department of Defense unit charged with recovering service members’ remains abroad has been holding phony “arrival ceremonies” for seven years, with an honor guard carrying flag-draped coffins off of a cargo plane as though they held the remains returning that day from old battlefields.
The Pentagon acknowledged Wednesday that no honored dead were in fact arriving, and that the planes used in the ceremonies often couldn’t even fly, and were towed into position. The story was first reported on nbcnews.com.
The ceremonies at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii are held up as a sign of the nation’s commitment to its fallen warriors. They have been attended by veterans and families of MIAs, led to believe that they were witnessing the return of Americans killed in World War II, Vietnam and Korea."

The mindset that would conceive of this falsehood is deeply troubling.  Not only is the entire process a lie, but the government allows people to attend these "ceremonies" while believing they are honoring the actual remains of our soldiers.

If the logic that can justify this is applied elsewhere, as it undoubtably is, then really what can we believe from our government?  This is evidence of deep and very dangerous flaw in our own government and our culture.  The people responsible for this theater must immediately be identified and their employment terminated.

Anything less simply tolerates this dishonesty.

  1. I don't think that there is any depth to which this administration and its minions would not sink. When Senator Rand Paul had to filibuster the US Senate to force the US Attorney General to write a statement that they wouldn't use armed drones to attack unindicted (innocent) US Citizens on American soil -- for purposes of political retribution, I knew that the game had been lost.

We haven't even had a national budget for the past five years as part of an effort to "fundamentally transform America".

I frankly don't know what it will take to bring the Republic back. In order to be a righteous nation, we must first be a righteous people. And we're not there. Mitt Romney lost the last election because women wanted the RIGHT to kill their own children in utero. They have that present right and cherish it... What does that all say for We the People?

    1. Which founding father said that the Constitution was fit for governing only a moral people? How true. So many today would quickly sell their priceless birthright of freedoms for a mess of pottage.
