  1. They appear small for peaches. Why are the rings removed from the jars?

    1. Rings are only used during canning process, storage should be done without them. I loosen mine to store so I don’t lose them.

  4. Once you know they took a seal you take the rings off when you shelve them. The ring can hide a faulty seal later on.I will throw a ring back on if giving to someone in case it gets bumped in transit.

    1. plus the rings got used on many jars in one year, you did not need a ring for every jar

  6. over ripe apricots were used as ammo back in the 60's. i think i still have some stuck in my ear. that mcgarvey kid had an arm !
