I don't agree with the pessimists. She's a young woman who has not been exposed to traditional males. The guy she dated clearly has a take charge, masculine vibe and that has attracted women for millennia. The credit card would have been an antelope carcass in days past... evidence of him being a good provider. That touches a primal nerve in women.
