My second most favorite flavor. 11 cents an ounce. Almost twice that cost per can at the local supermarket. Perfect for a quick winter lunch.

  1. Case price $26.16 divides down to $2.18 per can, which is exactly the price of a can at Walmart.

  2. Local Giant market in town charges over $4.00 for Progresso soups. Last time you posted this, I bought a case. I think it's good. Wife doesn't care for it but she hates all soups. My favs are macaroni and bean and Italian wedding soup.

  3. I got addicted to the little vending machine, Dinty Moore beef stews in Iceland, '72-'73, USAF. Still love 'em.

  4. Love the Progresso Chicken & Wild Rice and the minestrone, have a few cans in the pantry. I think it's $2.99 a can at my local market, the same as a can of Campbell's Chunky soup. In another month it'll be $4, and then another month you won't be able to find it. FJB

  5. It had a 20% off coupon so it was $1.75 a can. I jumped on that since that is one of my favorite varieties of Progresso soup.

  6. I was going to buy a can to try it and then I saw the sodium content. It is off the charts

    1. Just to be honest, I can't eat them as I'm allergic to onions. But to spread the goodness and lower the sodium, try this. While at wallyworld get a roast chicken and bone it out and chop up, throw in pot, add some more diced carrots and celery and water to cover. Season to taste (oregano, pepper, basil, red pepper) and heat through. When carrots are soft add two cans of the chicken and wild rice. Should get at least a half gallon of soup. It will freeze well and also survive in the fridge for a while as the Progresso has enough preservatives in it to petrify a mummy.

P.S. When serving sprinkle a little imported Parmesan cheese on top.

  7. Progresso soup, opened a can and ate it...got so sick for 3 days of vomiting have never touched another can because making from scratch is so much better.

  8. All of the Progresso soups are so over-spiced that they taste like chemical waste. Even Campbell's is going that way. The only good soup is that which you make yourself.

  9. It is, unfortunately, off the charts on sodium. All of the hearty Progresso soups are. High in MSG as well. It's not that hard to make soup from scratch and it's a whole lot better for you.
