  2. I don't spend life with a phone to my ear, so I have yet to discover anyplace where being totally unable to hear anything else going on was something I considered a good thing.

If I had an Evil genius Lair with concrete walls and bunker doors, I might relent, but I figure that'd be pretty well a perfect listening environment without the ear buds.

    YMMV

    1. Agree. On both points.
I have 2 giant 29" monitors connected to my computer, why would I want to look at a little 5" screen?

Similarly, I have 4 Pioneer HPM100 speakers connected to a Pioneer SX1250 receiver, connected to a hard drive with 18,000 mp3 files. Why would I want to stuff little pieces of foam in my ears?

Finally, I venture rarely outside the compound and when I do all senses are tuned and I am interested in all forms of observance in my journeys. What could possibly be going on in them tiny pieces of foam that is so attractive? I just don't get it.

The coming burn off will be glorious.

  3. Anything covering the ears thus making it hard to hear what is coming up behind you is why I do not use these.

  4. I use a similar, but much cheaper, set of earbuds when I'm at the gym. It's crap at noise cancellation, but it tones the noisy gym enough that I can hear my own music and the Dan Bongino show. But I consider being able to hear at least a little of what's going on around me as a tactical necessity. When not in the comfort and safety of my own home, I like to have situational awareness.
