  1. It was a peaceful tank that only shot flowers.

  2. Based on my having a bit of experience with tanks (USMC Vietnam flame thrower tank commander - 1968), I am going to offer up that this is a Russian tank (maybe in Afghanistan) that had a round explode in the gun tube.

  3. And stripped for parts looks like. Rifled barrel and shape makes me think T54-55 era.

  4. T54-55 and my guess is Isreal or Golan Heights.

  5. T-54. The T-55 does not have the dome ventilator.

  6. Had the gun tube of another platoon's tank burst just as we were bounding past them. They had somehow managed to scoop up enough of a wadi we were crossing. That was...interesting.

  7. Long ago I tried that idea of pouring molten wax in a birdshot shotgun shell to make it a hillbilly slug. My shotgun barrel ended up like that tanks barrel.---ken

  8. Dunno about your experience, but there are plenty of people who have made was shells and had no problem. I, myself, wouldn't try wax or cut shells except in an extreme situation with no good alternative.

Shooting mere bird shot at a bad guy at 50 yards would be likely to piss off a 2-legged predator, but that would be about it. I'd give the cut and wax shells a try in a threat environment if that were my only serious alternative.

  9. Supposedly, it was a po' man's slug. I can afford slugs and buckshot, so I may never try it.
