And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I would argue that the Haystack Rock in Pacific City is only the 2nd most famous. Canon Beach would be more known/popular - given it is at the end of HWY 26 a direct shot from Portland.
That spit connecting Morro Rock is covering the discharge from the PG&E plant. The bay channel used to run to the ocean on the north side of the rock. And the south naturally deep enough to not connect.
Except, isn't Morro Rock attached to a spit of land?
ReplyDeleteHaystack Rock in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteThis.
DeleteYes, Haystack Rock At Cape Kiwanda. I kinda grew up around there. A dory fleet launch and retrive their dorys there.
DeleteExactly. There are several up and down the coast, but the one at Cape Kiwanda is the most famous.

I prefer Pacific City.
Too far out for Morro rock, which, as the first commenter said, has a spit running off the right that connects it to the shore.
ReplyDeleteNo birdshit on it.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, the photo here is Haystack as mentioned.
