And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

They build the whole wood structure first, then leave it out in the weather for 1-2 years before the mortor-caulk is placed between the timbers so there is a good tight seal. They seem to last forever with no paint or preservatives, 2 centuries at least so far as thats near about the oldest ones in WV.

ReplyDeleteNeed some linseed oil and kerosene or off road diesel ( if you like a redish hew) sprayed on it to preserve the wood and protect it from bugs
