    1. There's always an obnoxious character to ruin the show. Whenever he came on I changed the channel.

    2. Pat Buttram apparently based his character on Elvis Presley's manager, 'Col.' Tom Parker.

When the 'Rural Purge' came through in the early 70's, all of these programs were canceled and replaced by programs with urban settings. Buttram said, sarcastically: "CBS canceled everything with a tree in it — including Lassie." A lot of programs that were quite popular got the knife.

    1. Mr. Kimbal, the county extension agent was my absolute favorite. Well.... not absolute favorite, but he was pretty good. Wait - what was I saying? Oh yeah, Mr. Kimball. He was awful.

  6. All very nice, livable and affordable houses. Easy to heat, cool off, clean and live in, while today's homes are almost the complete opposite.

  7. Ran from '65 to '71, I watched it as a kid and enjoyed it. It was a little corny even back then.

  9. Didn't they all have time ins with each other? Green Acres, Petticoat Junction(the girls in the water tower was lost on me, as a child), something else that escapes me.
