And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

When the 'Rural Purge' came through in the early 70's, all of these programs were canceled and replaced by programs with urban settings. Buttram said, sarcastically: "CBS canceled everything with a tree in it — including Lassie." A lot of programs that were quite popular got the knife.
Mr. Kimbal, the county extension agent was my absolute favorite. Well.... not absolute favorite, but he was pretty good. Wait - what was I saying? Oh yeah, Mr. Kimball. He was awful.
Didn't they all have time ins with each other? Green Acres, Petticoat Junction(the girls in the water tower was lost on me, as a child), something else that escapes me.
