And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The reason I have a 74 Stingray convertible that I can barely afford is because my dream car is a 62 convertible that is way out of my price range. My Stingray has 47k miles and it is worth about $35k. I have at least $65K tied up in it that my wife knows about.
I want one of the new mid engine 'Vettes, but I can't afford it either. As my friends like to point out, I'm too old to get in and out of the thing anyway.
My BF had various Corvettes through the years: 58, 63, 69, and 72. I liked none of them as I found them not easy to see out of, comfortable, and not that easy to drive. I had a 70 Camaro Z28 (RS style) that took me over a year to put together and was faster than all my friend's cars except the 72. I later sold my Z28 when I was going to college in 75.
