    1. The Society of the Cincinnati included one of Washington's generals named Arthur St. Clair. After the revolution, he would become the military governor of the Northwest territory that included southwest Ohio. At that time, there were three settlements along the north bank of the Ohio river just opposite the mouth of the Licking river named; Losantiville, North Bend, and Columbia. In 1790 these three combined into one, and governor Arthur St. Clair named the combined settlement after the Society.

And that, my friends, is how the city of Cincinnati got its name.

    1. The fasces.
A bundle of wooden rods and an axe bound together by leather thongs. Fasces represented that a man held imperium, or executive authority

    3. It was also the symbol of Mussolini's fascism. Good thing he wasn't holding a swastika or the statue would have been destroyed.
