    1. Big steering wheel could also mean it had power steering. I also see a rally pak gauge cluster too. Looks like it has aftermarket ac as well.

Swap 289 for a 347 stroker and a 5 speed manual.... shoot, make it a 6 speed manual, sub frame connectors, shelby drop and 4 wheel disc brakes and go have fun.

Guaranteed to get a gearheads attention.

    2. Change the red to black, and the white to dark green and I was there!
Yes, rally pack, horsey seats, and factory air.

  2. I am afraid that most Americans could not drive it because it has a standard transmission.

    1. First American car with a seatbelt was a 49 Nash. The first car with 3-point seatbelt was a 59 Volvo PV544.

    1. Only problem with their gas tank was that it's top was the floor of the trunk. Throw it something heavy (like a Muncie 4spd trans), and you could end up with gas fumes inside the car.

    2. You could also end up with a passenger compartment full of burning gasoline if you get rear ended.

  5. I told my kids after I taught them to drive a manual transmission that they can do something that only 1% of their peers could do. Good carjacking insurance, too, driving a manual.

  6. Brewvet,
never saw one of those torched. The Pinto was supposed to be a problem, though. A sister had a teacher die in a Pinto fire a minute after dropping her off at home.
