And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I saw that car when I lived in Nashville. I went to pick up my mother from the hair dressers and it was parked there. Belonged to Hank Williams JR. and he was there to pick up his mother. There were chromed lever actions on top of the fenders and a set of bull horns for the hood ornament. The seats were leather with tooling, his name on the drivers seat. What a hoot!
I was working at the big Marriott in Dallas in 1973 on Night Audit for the front desk when Chill Wills comes bursting thru the doors with a friend drunk as a skunk at around 2:30 am one Saturday morning.
Luckily, one of the Restaurant Managers was still there so we put two ice chests full of crappie in one of the coolers for him to pick up when he left.... . I helped helped unload the chests from the trunk and saw Chill's ride..1956 pearl white shiny Cadillac convertible with fancy saddle hand tooled leather seats, a chrome plated 1873 SA Colt as the gear shift lever on the column, chrome plated SA Colts pointed forward with rear view mirrors attached at the front sight area and the piece la resistance, a huge set of long horns as wide as the car almost mounted at the front of the hood........
Leo Carrillo would approve...
