Champagne, if you are seeking the truth, is better than a lie detector. It encourages a man to be expansive, even reckless, while lie detectors are only a challenge to tell lies successfully. - Graham Greene

  1. Sharing the bubbly with Emma Peel Diana Rigg would put a smile on my face too.

Isn't Graham Greene the chap who was the bumbling Galloping Gourmet?

  2. Diana was my #1 gal back in the early 60s and beyond. Id'a crawled over 5 miles of broken glass, rusty razor blades and elephant poop just to kiss her big toe.

    3. Even at my young age I appreciated her talents. My father would shuffle to the front of his fireside chair when she was on screen. Mum would scowl and say 'men' in a meaningful way.

    1. She was something special, wasn't she?
Especially when she was wearing leather. :-)

    2. Oooh, I LOVED the leather catsuit! For me, in the 60's, the only women I wanted were Emma Peel and Barbara Gordon (Batgirl). Even at the age of 6 I knew a good thing when I saw it.

    3. Diana Rigg is really the principal exemplar in her own class.

  4. Diana Rigg (Emma Peel) & Batgirl (Yvonne Craig)! The 60's was a great time to be a teenage boy.

  5. I bought the Avengers Mega-set, Emma Peel edition. All of her episodes.
    Best money I've ever spent.

  6. How about Julie Newmars? Many fond memories of her as Catwoman.

    1. Julie Newmar is still kickin'. She'll be 90 in August.
5' 11" tall, two thirds of which was legs. Growl.

Did you know she was once engaged to Louis L'Amour?

  7. Somewhat later, but you can make a case for Linda Carter and Lindsay Wagner.

  8. From the song by Tom T. Hall.

"I like beer, it makes me a jolly good fellow
I like beer, it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (Makes him feel mellow)
Whiskey's too rough, Champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear..."
