And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
There are certain rights that are given by God and should be recognized and protected by government, but carrying a gun isn't one of them. Not that I'm against law-abiding citizens being able to carry guns.
The shootings have more to do with the Godless, low-class, selfish society that has been developed than they do with firearms. After all, the first murder is said to have been done with a rock, and the highest number of murders have been committed by governments. CC
