Talking Heads. Saw them at the Greek Theater in Berkeley in the 1980's.

  1. You know just this morning,
I found myself behind the wheel of a large automobile.
And then I found myself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife, and then I asked myself,
"well, how did I get here?"

I didn't have any good answers to that, but that's a whole different song....

    1. I recommend "True Stories". Fab film written by Mr Byrne & my HS classmate, Beth Henley (Pulitzer for "Crimes Of The Heart"). John Goodman is great as is Swoozie Kurtz as "The Laziest Woman In The World".

  4. Heard of a van loaded with weapons
Packed up and ready to go
Heard of some gravesites down by the river
    A place that nobody knows

    1. The sound of gunfire, off in the distance.
      Getting used to that now.

  5. I saw Three Dog Night last night... they did a lot more music I knew than I remembered. They'd start a song & I'd be saying to myself "they did that?". Happened more than once...
    This group is like that....

  6. Saw David Byrne in Austin in 2019. It was very much a high-energy, Talking Heads style show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hldMkNnbcog Not Austin but the same show.

  8. My favorite Talking Heads line: "If this is paradise, I wish I had a lawnmower."
